Takashi Murakami’s pop-infused visual universe – a mixture of anime, manga and seventeenth century fine art – has appeared on everything from the covers of best-selling albums to handbags.
He’s also produced music videos for Billie Eilish and Pharrell Williams. And – unlike many of his contemporaries – he embraces the use of AI in the creative process.
We went to meet him at his new exhibition in London.
