When we first started setting up the nursery, we ran into a familiar problem: no lights! Instead of calling an electrician and blowing the budget, I found an innovative solution using smart bulbs and switches from GE Cync.
I’ll walk you through how I solved this issue, discuss the common challenges people face with smart lights and switches, and explain why finding the right ecosystem matters for a seamless experience. Plus, I’ll give you a glimpse of my smart home transition from Alexa to Apple Home and the role Matter over Thread plays in future-proofing my setup.

The Cync products featured are all direct connect wifi. Cync has released updated Matter over wifi bulbs to replace these. The new switches will also be Matter over wifi.
I’m going to be experimenting with Inovelli + Hue in the nursery, but will likely replace bathroom fixtures and switches with Cync Matter products in a future episode.
